Words. They've been a big deal to me lately. They're everywhere. Some good, some bad, some ugly. Everywhere I turn I'm surrounded in a sea of them. They go anywhere from compliments, to sarcasm, to jokes to plain lies. I think my generation don't think about words as much as we should. You never know when your words can make or break a person. The little flaw that you always joke about with someone could actually be their biggest insecurity. A few years ago, I found out one of my friends was suicidal. We actually weren't even that close, but he chose me to confide in. Every weekend I had to convince him not to run away. Every weekend I had to convince him that there was something to live for. Every since then, I've had the biggest fear that one of my words could send someone over the edge. People aren't always how they seem. I just want to encourage you to think about your words. Try to use more encouraging words than hurtful words. Let the mean thought, no matter how many laughs you could get from it, pass through your mind without going through your lips. Love uncontrollably.
Psalm 19:14
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.
